How to sort and pretreat laundry?

The white soccer jersey of your son is suddenly pink? The favorite wool sweater fits the baby suddenly? The tomato sauce stain on your husband's business shirt is still red after washing?

According to towels cleaning service, good pre-washing work saves a lot of time in the end and keeps you from mishaps that can ruin your beloved garment.

How to sort your laundry properly?

Textile Type: When you sort your laundry by textile type, make a pile each for:

Delicate textiles, such as wool or silk

Easy-care textiles such as T-shirts, cotton shirts or jeans

Robust textiles such as towels or bed linen

Washing temperature: This is best suited to the care symbols that you will find on the labels in the clothing. There is the temperature at which you can wash the textiles.

Easy-care clothing should usually be washed at 40 degrees. However, special applications, imprints or mixed textiles may require a gentler temperature.

Delicates, wool, and silk may often only be washed cold or at a maximum of 30 degrees.

In contrast, sturdy textiles such as towels, tea towels or bed linen often tolerate very high temperatures between 60 and 95 degrees.

Degree of soiling: Do not wash lightly soiled or short-wearing laundry together with heavily soiled textiles. These may require a different wash temperature or detergent dosage.

Color: You should always sort your laundry by color. Especially red and black items of laundry could discolor and should, therefore, be washed together with similar colors if possible. Never wash whites and colored laundry together. As suggested by towels cleaning service, please also note the information on the labels.

How to properly pretreat your laundry?

Heavily soiled textiles should be washed as soon as possible. Fresh stains are usually easier to remove than previously dried stains. If the degree of contamination is greater, you should pretreat the laundry before putting it into the machine.

Many stains can be pretreated with Persil Universal Gel or Persil Color Gel. Simply put some gel on the stain and let it work for at most 10 minutes. For particularly stubborn dirt, you can pretreat your laundry with a stain remover. Please also read our tips for removing stains.
